Last Sunday, I was running late to brunch. With no outfit planned, I reached for jeans and a tissue turtleneck. By the way, I love these from J.Crew Factory. I was wearing the in this post. Just so you know, they’re on sale for less than $15 right now. For size reference, a small fits me perfectly.

My casual combination got a holiday vibe when I added this fabulous vest. If you like this style of vest, you will absolutely love this (on sale).

To play with color a bit, I wore my burgundy Tory Burch bag. Don’t you just love how burgundy complements grey hues?

I finished the look with my  (on sale). The shaft on these boots is taller than a typical ankle boot, and I find them quite versatile because of that little detail.

Top Off Your Winter Style With This Essential

A hat is a must-have when the weather is freezing outside. I like the hat I choose to function but to do so in style. So, my choice of a topper is always a sharp fedora. The right fedora can effortlessly elevate an outfit.

I was instantly drawn to today’s featured topper because of its color combination–navy and burgundy. Don’t you just love that striking color combo? In these colors, the wool hat has such a luxe vibe with the contrasting felt trim.

When I first saw the hat, I immediately started imagining outfits that it would perfectly complement. From navy ensembles to winter white outfits, this hat can so easily cinch an outfit together and even inspire an outfit, like it did this one.

In today’s look, I opted to color block with basics. A burgundy sweater, boyfriend jeans, and booties get new life when this hat is thrown into the mix. What’s your favorite hat style during the colder months?

A Super Stylish Way To Wear Leggings

I don’t know why leggings have such a bad a reputation. I know you’ve heard it too, “tights is not pants!” True that. But, leggings can add a chic, functional layer to an outfit when styled the right way. And, they’re comfortable. Today, my black leggings are helping me restyle this old shirt dress and make it work in fall weather.

What I love most about layering is it allows you get creative with old favorites in your closet. This striped shirt dress, for example, feels brand new when worn open and belted over a pair of leggings.

By the way, if you’ve been considering getting this , a brighter alternative to the classic black/gold belt, I have to say that I’ve found it so wearable. Want evidence? I’m wearing it here, here, here, here, and here. It’s always adds a touch of luxury to an outfit. Today’s featured dress was under $20 and looks so much sharper with this belt instead of the self-tie belt it came with.

6 Super Chic Ways To Style Your Coat

It’s gotten very cold in St. Louis already, and I feel like I’ve been living in my coats. To make them feel fresh and stylish everyday, I’ve been relying on some of my favorite coat styling tricks. Here are my top 6 things to do to make an old coat feel new again.

1. Belt it

Belts have been back and better than ever in recent years. Simply adding a belt to an outfit can instantly make it more fashionable. Belting our coats has the same effect. Isn’t the  a perfect complement to my ?

2. Skip the scarf

I love scarves, both for function and for fashion. But, sometimes, like when the neckline of your coat is fabulous, I skip the scarf to let the coat shine. This  (also seen here) has a striking stand collar that holds its own. No stand collar on your coat? No problem. Wear a turtleneck sweater (as seen here) with your coat.

3. Cape it

When it’s not too cold, I always prefer to cape my coat. Caping makes any coat and the resulting look infinitely more chic.

4. Go Monochromatic

Can’t tell where my coat ends and my turtleneck begins? Yass, I was going for that! Seriously. though, wearing clothing in the same color (or color family) as your coat is always a good look.

5. Layer 2 Coats Together

The double coat trend has been making waves for some time now. I’m here for it because it offers new coat styling possibilities. Read more here for tips on avoiding bulk when rocking 2 coats.

6. Accessorize with pops of color

If we have to accessorize to stay warm, might as well have fun with it, right? Accessorize in color! These bright orange gloves add so much life to this coat.
