And, just like that, fall weather arrived in St. Louis. So, bring on the sweater dresses, leggings, and booties. Luckily, I’ve been getting ready. I’m a summer gal at heart, so fall fashion doesn’t always excite me. This fall, though, I’m really digging the styles. Lace up details on anything, for example, especially on a sweater dress, get my attention.

When I spotted this terry dress with its lace up details around a plunging v-neckline, I immediately started imaging all the styling possibilities. It’s casual enough to wear as loungewear but hip enough to rock outside as well. And, get this? It has pockets!
I wore it out for the first time with basic leggings and ankle booties (see these booties worn here, here, here, and here). I envision also wearing it with tights and tall boots. The dress is a fly piece that I’m happy to add to my fall wardrobe.
Have a wonderful weekend!
I’ve been a longtime fan of handbags, a South African based handbag company offering African-inspired styles. My first bag from this etsy retailer remains one of my favorite clutches of all time (see it worn here, here, here, and here). And, my latest style will certainly be a go-to essential this fall. By the way, when you find your favorite, use the code STYLE15 to get 15% off your order!

New Chameleon Goods Handbag
My new bag is a black leather folder clutch with Baule cloth from Siera Leone. The combination of the cloth and leather is magical. And, the color palette is so perfect for fall.
This particular style is currently sold out, but will be restocking soon. Be sure to use the code STYLE15 to get 15% off any order you place though.
In today’s look, I paired a simple white tee with dark rinse jeans to allow the accessories to shine. My and are always ready to make a statement too.
Want to know a secret? The shown below is actually this one worn on the reverse side. Shhh…
My makeup routine is simple. I like to use as few products as possible to get flawless looking skin. But, I have scars and hyper-pigmentation. I also have sensitive skin (read all about how DNA testing helped me further understand my sensitive skin here). So, when the dropped, I only planned to buy a highlighter and the because I didn’t need new makeup. But, after reading all the rave reviews about the , I had to try it.
I was disappointed when I skimmed the ingredients in the and noticed “Fragrance/Parfum.” That’s usually a deal breaker for me since I’m sensitive to fragrances. I took a chance, though, and I tried the foundation. The fragrance was listed near the bottom of the list of ingredients, likely indicating it was not a predominant ingredient. I also couldn’t detect a strong smell. Good news. I’ve been using the foundation every day for a week without any reaction.
My Fenty Beauty Foundation Color Match
I got matched to the color . I apply it using the . For reference, I wear a , and I’m a 2Y12 in the .
This foundation will likely replace my old favorite because of its beautiful matte finish, perfect shade match, and buildable coverage.
What are you favorite products in the Fenty Beauty Collection? And, are you as excited as I am about the ?
Double denim is back in a big way this fall. Actually, pairing denim with denim has been holding its own among top trends for several seasons now. And, for denim lovers, this is great news because it means we have infinitely more cool ways to wear our favorite jeans.

Add Layers to Double Denim for Cool Fall Styling
To anchor the look, I tucked my favorite chambray shirt (an older style from Old Navy) into a pair of (under $30!). To add a little fall flavor, I reach for perfect-for-fall layers, like my , and luxe leather accessories like my .
I love a long cardigan as a transitional layer. It delivers the warmth of a cardigan, but it’s so cool looking. For another way to rock this cardigan, see this post.
My is worn to break up the denim. Its beautiful color—”Missoula”— and antique brass hardware also introduce warm fall color into the combination.

Happy first day of Fall! Here in the Lou, our weather hasn’t received the memo. It’s been in the upper 90s all week. No worries though. It might feel like summer outside, but there are cool ways to ease fall elements into your style. Bring on the fall plaid!

If fall runway trends are any indication, plaid is the must-have print of fall. And, I’ve found some of my favorite plaids from Venus, one of my brand partners, in the past. Remember my plaid cardigan? I was excited, then, to see the new plaid pieces for this season. And, Venus didn’t disappoint. Enter this fabulous, off-the-shoulder, plaid, tie-sleeve top.
The navy base of this plaid top is such a rich color. The material is lightweight and flowy. The top also has adjustable straps, but I tucked them away to wear it as an off-the-shoulder style. I’ll likely remove them because I doubt I’d ever wear the straps. The smocked hem at the top of the shirt keeps it in place. No need to constantly adjust like is sometimes necessary with similar tops.
My ankle skinnies from DENIZEN® from Levi’s® (seen first here) are one of my favorite pairs of jeans this year. Orbit color? Bomb! Ankle length? Perfect! And, ankle length bottoms paired with booties make for an ideal combination on this shorter woman.
I purchased my Madewell back for travel. I wanted a ‘personal item’ that was easy to carry and could hold my laptop and photography equipment. But, I’ve been getting so much wear out of this beautiful bag. I take it everywhere! From running to the mall or to an appointment, I take this backpack everywhere.
