How to Wear a Wrap Dress as a Cardigan

A few months ago, I ordered a Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress on eBay, but I didn’t quite like how it looked on me. Unfortunately, it was a final sale purchase, so I was stuck with it. Since I loved the fabulous red twirl print on the dress so much, I decided to make it work. Here’s how.

I’m wearing the wrap dress as a duster cardigan. To convert the dress into a cardigan, I simply pulled the ties inside and knotted them at the back. Of course, the ties can also be draped on the outside of the dress and tied at the back. I prefer concealing the ties, though, to allow the fabulous print to shine.

With a such a standout print, the rest of my outfit simply plays a supportive role. My white tank and  (under $30) are holding it down while the duster stands out.

Of course, I had to play with prints just a little. I’m wearing my old , which featured one of my favorite J.Crew prints of all time. The print was created in a famous Italian mill, but it reminds of a good old Caribbean batik. The print on the pumps have a hint of that red orange in the dress, and the items connect on that note while clashing beautifully.

I gave a sneak peek of this look, from the to , on . Hold up, are you following me on ? It goes down on Instagram Stories. You should totally follow me.

I’m also wearing my favorite red lip ever, with the lip pencil. This combination has been my go-to lip color lately.
