2016 Recap: What Blogging Taught me about Unbound Potential

A couple years ago, I started writing down my annual goals and doing check-ins throughout the year. Last year, one of my goals was to expand my blog’s reach by appearing in a national magazine. When I achieved a magazine feature and also ended up on the cover of a magazine (an outcome I couldn’t even imagine), I realized that I might need to start setting and reaching for even bigger goals. So, in 2016, I did just that.

In 2016, I wanted to publish content on national platforms. So, I was beyond thrilled to contribute to the Ask Redbook page in the April issue of Redbook. As a pear-shaped woman, I got to offer insights about styling this body type.

Magazine Feature

Ya’ll, I was Ms. March 2016! As many of you know, I was born and raised in St. Kitts. So, I was beyond honored to be chosen by the St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank as a Kittitian inspiring excellence and featured in their 2016 calendar. This feature was particularly special because it recognized my work as a fashion blogger.

St. Louis is so central to my blog. I started it here. I get inspired here. So, having the opportunity to share my favorite places to shop in , was such an honor. Get a glimpse of the feature online .

I literally had to pinch myself when the editors of Redbook recommended me for a full-page feature ad in the October issue of the magazine. And, the content? My photography (converted into a vector-art illustration) and my story. We each live inspiring lives, and sometimes it takes someone else reminding us of that to realize.

So, guess what I’m reaching for in 2017? Some out-of-this-world possibilities for sure.
