Summertime Style

Now that it’s officially summer, it’s time to sport one of my favorite summer dresses from last year, the Anthropologie ‘Four Corner’ shirtdress.  It’s vibrant orange color, breezy silhouette, and subtle high-low hem evoke effortless summer chic.

Transported to a tropical rainforest right in St. Louis.  The in the Misouri Botanical Garden.

Summer Work Style in Graphic Black and White

Can you tell I’ve been digging the graphic black and white trend this summer?  Black and white is just so clean and classic, and the combination provides the perfect canvas for infusing summer brights.

Today’s featured dress, a versatile piece that I’ve worn to work and after work, is by Claude Brown.  I found it in Daffy’s back in 2011 and it remains a favorite dress in my wardrobe because of its silhouette and jazzy print.

In today’s post, the dress is worn with lots of gold accessories, pink pointed toe flats, a blue cardigan (for when it’s cold inside), and a bold purple lip (Mac ‘Heroine’ lipstick).

I’m linking with  for the  challenge today.

A Maxi Dress for Maximum Summer Style

A maxi dress is a fantastic solution for maximum chic in the summertime.  You may remember from Tropical Inspired that I’ve been eying the .  The style finally arrived in my local stores, so I tried it on and fell in love with the dress all over again.

The black and white, geometric print coupled with the long and slim silhouette of the dress make some kind of style magic together.  I certainly envision myself wearing this dress often throughout the summer.

Budget tip:   for greater savings.  I purchased mine for $42.24 (with free shipping) using online discount codes.  The dress is still full-price ($74.95) in-store.

Fit:  I’m wearing the dress in an XS.  I sized down because the top appears to run large.  The length is perfect for me (with or without heels) and I’m only 5’4″.  Taller women, then, may find the dress short.
